T-34 questions

Postby Dario Risso » Thu Aug 16, 2012 6:33 pm

Hi guys. I'm going to start a destroyed T-34, using AFV Club kit 35S57, so I have some questions:

1) All variants used the same engine? (Diesel V2)

2) When a T-34 suffer major damage, it down due to suspension breakage (like Panthers, Tigers, etc)?

3) The one million dollar question: soviets use primer paint under final colors?

Thanks

Dario,

1. Yes
2. Yes if the springs got too hot from an internal fire, they would loose tension and the tank would drop.
3. This one is still being debated but it appears the the interior was definitely primed in Red oxide. The exterior on the other hand is still debated a bit with some saying yes and some saying that it was much like the US with no primer being used.

Thanks, Roy. I've read divided opinions about "red primer" vs. "no primer". But no one mention the interior, so, thanks for pointing it
