Ok so tonight's progress on the 8t. I've weathered the chassis to depict a vehicle on the Eastern Front during the winter of 1941/42. I think it looks great. I'm installing the running gear as I go so that it gets weathered in situ too. This I think makes it more realistic.

I also added the PE flanges to the sprocket wheels.

Weathering effects look great, real grimy like you'd expect in the winter. Exactly what our winter plow equipment looks like in the winter.

Will the side panels be off for additional cooling or for maintenance? I always thought the look with the side panels off was pretty cool. Keep it up.

Thanx David. Glad you approve of the weathering. And Roy yes the side panels will be off. I have some pics of 8 tonners with the side panels removed.

So a couple of days progress on the 8t.

I'm about to assemble the treads.

And the progress so far.

And so while the treads were setting I started on the body work.

So the progress so far. The treads are done, and the body work has had some colour applied to it.

At the moment I'm working on the firewall, and dashboard. And I'm hoping to get this installed on the vehicle tomorrow.
