Tamiya 1/35 Field Kitchen

Wow its been a while since I updated my Field Kitchen!

Some more WW2 photos have since appeared on the Axis History Forum showing the limber in more detail. I need to remake the back rest and the food container support board. The large field kitchen limber (this model) could carry 6 food containers. 4 on the board at the back of the limber, arranged at an angle, and 1 on each side next to the arm rests. The small field kitchen limber only carried 2 food containers on the back, not at an angle.

Some products to superdetail the limber and kitchen.

The fine chain has been out of stock for ages which is one of the reasons I haven't made progress. I will use the 18 link chain for the horses.

Build updates as soon as possible.

Good to see more on this one. I have some pics of ebay examples to post, any chance to see the ones you are talking about?

Thanks for fixing the image Jamie.

I had thought about this one. There is a walkaround here. http://svsm.org/gallery/fieldkitchen/IMGP2085 It looks a little different from the Mini Art kit though.

There are also a number of photos on the Axis History Forum field kitchen thread of captured Russian field kitchens in German use.

But as I have so many other kits to build I will concentrate on those for the moment.

Tim

BTW there is a newly published book "Gulaschkanone" on the German Field Kitchen by Schiffer Books. It is expensive though at $49.99

Here's the book that Tim speaks of: http://www.rzm.com/books/schiffer/sch7673.cfm#bigImg
PS-much cheaper at amazon!
