Sd.Kfz. 251/17 C

I've received the AFV Club yesterday, so I started the searching of info and I've found at the moment some threads in ML Axis Forum about the "no existence" of such vehicle

Can anybody confirm this fact and/or recommend some books/website about it?

I'm not that familiar with this particular vehicle and the designation, but perhaps its just the name is wrong, for a vehicle that did in fact exist? I'll see if I can make time/remember to take a look into it for you.

Yes James, I ask wrong; the vehicle did existed, but it's not named "Sd.Kfz. 251/17 Ausf. C"
Apparently the only "official" Sd.Kfz. 251/17 was the Ausf. D

Yes from what I can see in some of the books, the one designation of 251/17 was a type D with a different type of gun system. The C was a freak.
