The Mark IV self-propelled tank-killer was built on the chassis of the Pz.Kpw. IV, one of the most efficient and widely used German tanks of the Second World War. Characterised by a low profile, the Mark IVs were produced in their hundreds, steadily being improved and fitted with better weaponry such as the long-barrelled 7.5 cm gun that made it a match for any Allied tank
Trumpeter 1/35 German Jagdpanzer 38(t) Hetzer STARR Tank
This new variant of the 38(t), the STARR was introduced to simplify production of the original 38(t) Hetzer. It was decided to mass produce a tank without a revolving turret and to rigidly mount the recoilless 75mm Pak 39/1 L/48 gun in the front glacis plate of the hull. Every effort was made to ensure the maximum degree of simplicity, reliability, high mobility and robustness. Development started in December 1943. Kit consists of over 780 parts on 25 sprues including hull, 200 individual track links and photo-etched parts.
During the production of the Sd.Kfz.8, DB 10 type, an armored body was designed & tested to protect the artillery tractor. The armor was 14.5mm thick AND had double doors at the rear of the hull, possibly for ammunition stowage. It is a rare variant and probably a prototype as only three photos of its use on the Eastern Front have been published. In the photographs, one can see that they were issued to the Luftwaffe and were used to tow 88mm Flak guns. One was found in a river at Pilica, in Poland, and restored. Kit consists of over 700 parts on 21 sprues plus upper & lower hulls, rubber tires, individual track links and photo-etched detail parts.
