No progress to show being a very easy quick assembly. I'll have it primed and painted with the rest of the kit soon.

Primed and base coat. I tried to work on the skin tones on the figure artist oils using this guide.
http://www.missing-lynx.com/articles/fi ... bheads.htm It didn't go well at all. The oil paints clumped up and had too much texture from the brush strokes. So I just used Tamiya's skin tone and plan to use artist oils to shade, filter and highlight like I have done with the armor.

Hi David; it is the Lion Roar/Great Wall kit? It looks nice!
Maybe you should take a look at some molding lines that needs some scraping (the brake/clutch bar and the "maneuvering bar"? -sorry, my english is not good)
I recommend you try the figure painting with acrilics, either Vallejo, Andrea or artistic ones. If you need some tutorials, take a look here: https://sites.google.com/site/panzerlinks/tecnicas

Hopefully the weathering will hide my painting imperfections...the camera really brings out my terrible paint lines.

David, I suggest you wait at least a week before apply any varnish over the oils; and good luck trying to dull the shine :-?
May be you can paint the face cloth another color, just for variation?
