The Czech historical tank arrives from Peru
Unusual gift came from the Czech Republic Peruvian government. In a solemn ceremony held earlier this week in the capital, Lima, Peru, acquired historical Czechoslovak tank LTP-38. He had already been transported to the port of Callao, where sails 22nd June through Hamburg to the Czech Republic, where he ends up in the Military History Institute (Military History Institute).

LTP-38 Tank is rare in the Czech Republic so far none of his specimen is not. These tanks were made in CKD Prague specifically for export to Peru, where they headed in 1938 and 1939. Thanks to special arrangements and Scania engines can operate without problems in alpine environments of South American Andes.

The event, in which the Peruvian government gave the Czech Republic this machine, was held at this year's 90th celebrations anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Peru and the Republic. The actual transfer of the tank both sides negotiated for more than eight years.

During the handover ceremony, praised the Peruvian Defense Minister José Urquiza importance of Czechoslovak tanks in service with the Peruvian Army and stressed that the donation LTP-38 tank to a museum for the Military History Institute is a symbolic act of confirming the very friendly relations between both countries.

Czech ambassador to Peru Eisenbruk Vladimir thanked for the donation on behalf of the CR tank for museum purposes for Military History Institute. Director of the Military History Institute Ales Knížek Peruvian side assured that the tank will be exposed to the Military History Institute in the place of honor in order to demonstrate the uniqueness of the event and the importance of the Czech-Peruvian relations.
