A few pics showing the jack in particular, an assortment of some I have found online.

So when it comes to these tiny fender mounting jobs- It's hard to stay focused on them for any length of time and then it's sometimes hard to re approach. Bt I do have the RHS fender done now almost.
Lining up the rear end holding part for the jack. First I have to position the jack after soldering the middle and front parts to the fender for rigidity.

I actually had to scratch the U-Shaped footing in the foreground because the Aber provided one did not fit the Aber provided base part of the jack.

Getting there, still not seated properly.

These are the comparable Tristar parts.

Thanks Tim- here's a small update showing the work strated on the other side fender tools. Here the parts that one uses to make a shovel storage mount.

Sometimes I like to leave a tool clamp empty-the crew has lost it or it's laying on another part of the tank-do you ever get that urge to do that?

I´m always amazed about your PE-skills James and I pick something new up almost every time. The trick with the Ice-stick is worth gold!

Okay I finally have the Aber fenders and on vehicle stowage mounts finished! What a relief- it takes a lot of patience to just grind this out!
The shovel has a brass handle added and the start of the clasps that hold the axe in place is too solder the bases in first- making sure everything lines up.
Image

Image

The shovel and axe mounts completed
Image

Image

The fire extinguisher receives some work prior to fitting of metal mount for it on the fender. The one on the right is stock the other sanded smooth.
Image

Image

Image

I was really unhappy with the undersized gas tank filler caps that come with the Tristar kit- the Aber ones I made for the abandoned refit from Aber previously fit perfect!
Image

Extinguisher mount in place
Image

Dry fit of both fenders with all the tool mounts.
Image

Image

Image

The final bits the hinged parts that keep the jack in place are finally added.
Image

A coat of Extra Color grey is airbrushed on at this point so the inside edge can be easily painted grey without any masking. I will do another coat once everything is glued to the hull as there is some flashing here and there- consider this a primer coat.

So - for those who are still interested, the fenders are on. I first tested the fit of a few other items to just get some motivation- I need to get this moving along!
Image

Here I am mixing up some two part Epoxy glue- I used it on one side but didn't like how it went- the other side I just used some Gel CA
Image

I actually took out the old engine hatch with the Aber screen- I didn't like it after everything- even still this replacement did not fit that well either- much sanding and fitting required to get it to look right in the backend.
Image

I added a strip of Evergreen to the hull just under the engine hatch and glued the Aber attachment hook on that.
Image

Also you can see I have attached some weld beads made with sprue.
Image

So everything is getting to the point where I'm itching to get some paint on all this stuff.
Image

The interior cab was given a simple mask of card cut to size.
Image

So that went pretty good. I'll do another coat as this stuff was pretty thin when I sprayed it.
